In a world where everyone is trying to lose weight, it’s common to turn to methods like intermittent fasting or vigorous exercise routines. But sometimes, these strategies alone don’t deliver the results people are hoping for. Bhavya, a young woman who works in the education sector, faced a similar challenge in her weight loss journey. While she’s eager to share her experience, she prefers to keep her images private, focusing instead on the practical steps she took to reach her goals. Here’s her weight loss story in her own words.
I’ve been on a journey to shed some extra kilos. I initially turned to intermittent fasting, hoping it would be the magic solution for weight loss. And yes, it worked — I did lose weight, but it came with a price. Over time, I began losing my appetite, which was the opposite of what I’d expected. My body started feeling drained and low on energy, and my cravings were still present despite my efforts.

What was the turning point?

After months of fasting struggles, I decided to take a different approach. I realised that I needed a routine that was not just about weight loss but also about fueling my body with the right nutrients and sustaining my energy levels. That’s when I began focusing on a balanced breakfast and some regular exercise.

weight gain

My new morning routine is simple but it has incredible benefits. Each day starts with a wholesome breakfast that not only keeps me full for hours but also supplies me with all the essential nutrients I need. This change has been a game-changer for me. This has helped me lose 5kgs in just 45 days. Of course, you will also have to add at least 20-30 minutes of exercise to your routine.
The good part is that now, I no longer feel tired in the middle of the day, and I’m more focused and alert. What’s more, my cravings for sweets and carbs have practically vanished!

The benefits that I have experienced

Switching from fasting to a nutritious breakfast and exercise routine has given me more than just weight loss. Here are some of the benefits I’ve noticed:

  • Increase in energy levels: My body feels charged up and ready to take on the day without needing a mid-morning snack.
  • Desired but stable weight loss: Unlike the quick (and temporary) weight loss from fasting, this balanced approach helps me lose weight sustainably.
  • Reduced cravings: I no longer crave sugary or carb-heavy foods, which was a constant struggle with fasting.
  • Improvement in digestion: Having a consistent breakfast kickstarts my metabolism, helping my digestion run smoothly throughout the day.
  • Better mood and focus: Starting the day with the right fuel keeps me mentally alert and in a positive mood.

My nutritious breakfast recipe

The breakfast that has become my daily staple is both delicious and packed with the nutrition I need. Here’s how you can make it:
Here’s how one can make Bhavya’s avocado-paneer salad:

  • 1 ripe avocado, diced (a rich source of healthy fats that help curb cravings and provide long-lasting energy)
  • 100 grams paneer, cubed (packed with protein to keep you full and support muscle health)
  • 1 cup mixed salad greens (such as lettuce, spinach, or arugula, for fibre and vitamins)
  • 1 small cucumber, diced (refreshing and hydrating)
  • 1 small tomato, diced (adds a juicy, nutrient-rich flavour)
  • Half tbsp olive oil (full of antioxidants and heart-healthy fats)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (for added vitamin C)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Avocado egg sandwich

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the diced avocado, paneer cubes, salad greens, cucumber, and tomato.
2. Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the salad.
3. Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
4. Gently toss the ingredients until everything is well-coated and mixed.
You can always replace the paneer with eggs, it totally depends on your preference.
This avocado-paneer salad is not only a filling breakfast or lunch option but also a powerhouse of nutrition. With healthy fats, fibre, and protein, it keeps you full and fueled without weighing you down. This small shift in Bhavya’s routine made all the difference in her journey, helping her manage her weight sustainably and giving her the energy she needed for an active, balanced life.
For anyone struggling with conventional weight loss methods, this nutrient-rich salad could be the first step toward a more fulfilling and healthy lifestyle.
